Less right-brained than whole-brained, Alex brings a serious creative, analytical, and research-driven approach to solving business problems. Big ones. Alex has created design systems across enterprises, executing in media ranging from motion graphics and print to embedded applications, interactive installations, and marketing assets. He and his team deliver strategy, concepts, design systems and experiences from the ground up.

Digital to our DNA

We’ve been digitally transforming businesses for longer than anyone we know of. Born on the web, we’ve been making browser-based technology that businesses run on for almost two decades.
2001
Founded in Boston, MA by a couple of childhood friends with a small satellite group in Baltimore, MD.
2001 – 2003
Took the construction scheduling, options and features management, and accounting processes for regional homebuilder online in custom-built web-based solutions that were first of their kind in the construction industry.
2003 – 2005
Completely transformed the operation of key Boston-area tutoring and test preparation client by bringing critical business processes online in a suite of custom-built back office applications and public-facing websites, allowing nationwide franchising.
2004
Opened first physical office in Boston’s North End.
2004
Facebook launches in Cambridge, MA.
2005
Launched our first commercially available digital product (subscription-based licensing server) with a client as part of a rethinking of their brand and their core product from the ground up.
2005
YouTube Launches in San Mateo, CA.
2006
Rebranded as Pier Interactive, launched a Webby-winning Flash-based blog as part of the rebrand. Blog included innovations such as mouse tracking and session recording for UX research, personalized content, and the first SEO-for-Flash implementation.
2007
Launched award-winning projects for HP, Marriott, Alcatel-Lucent, and Deutsche Bank.
2008
Rebranded as Maark as part of a merger. Launched new digital product with Intuit for team collaboration, file sharing, real-time chat and push notifications. Launched projects with Avaya, Seagate, and Microsoft.
2009 – 2010
Moved to new offices in Boston’s financial district as the company doubled again in size. Launched digital products with Marriott, Yankee Group, and Alcatel-Lucent.
2011 – 2012
Launched new chat product for mobile carriers in North America. Worked with Akamai on data visualizations for their Global Network Operations Center in Kendall Square, Cambridge, MA.
2013 – 2014
Built new WebRTC - in-browser video calling - prototypes with Intel. Redesigned the manufacturing software product line with Merck. Launched over a dozen campaigns with Verizon's new product and labs teams, as well as Parexel's Informatics team.
2015
Launched end-to-end rebrand and re-platforming of Netcracker.
2017
Launched a brand new Gogo.com
2018
Launched end-to-end Digital Transformation for John Hancock Investments. Launched end-to-end enterprise wide platform for Marriott.
2019
Launched new Izotope.com helping company break records for conversions and revenue.
2020
Launched new Maestro product for asset managers to manage fund data, disclosures, and factsheets.
